We hope to see you in our nation's capital! Home to the U.S. Federal Government, Washington, D.C., is also alive with vibrant cultural experiences from the museums around the national mall and scattered throughout the city to the many amazing restaurants and landmarks.
Take a stroll among monuments honoring leaders and heroes of our past as you contemplate what you learn from a fantastic program of social and personality psychology. Featuring cross-disciplinary sessions that showcase a diversity of topics, current issues, and scientific progress, we hope you come away inspired for your own work!
At this year’s convention, our division will showcase invited talks by Wiebke Bleidorn, Andrew Elliot, and Linda Skitka as well as Diane Mackie’s presidential address. In addition, there will be symposia and panels on psychobiography, funding opportunities, continuity and change in interests, autism spectrum disorder, empathy and compassion, time perspective, bias, and existential threat. There is also a great line up of poster sessions throughout the week!
In addition to engaging in social-personality psychology, you can add breadth and depth to your own horizons by attending collaborative programming and programming hosted by one of the other 53 APA divisions.
And, of course, between the training and learning, there is ample time for networking and fun. We hope you will join us at our social hour, whether you are a current or future member.
