SPSP is proud to release our 2022 Annual Report—documenting a year of challenges, successes, and transitions.

We began 2022 amid concerns about the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, planning our first-ever Annual Convention to feature in-person and virtual experiences. The event was so well-received that we will be taking a similar approach to our 2023 Annual Convention, offering a robust schedule of programming in Atlanta as well as Whova, our online convention platform. We hope to see you there online or in person later this month!

In addition to hosting one Annual Convention and preparing for another, we were proud to make progress in a few other key areas in 2022:

  • Developing a strategic plan  that will guide our efforts in the years to come, guided by the principle of monitoring and dismantling inequitable systems that affect underrepresented communities in our field
  • Enhancing the role of graduate students, the largest constituency in our membership, by adding them to our Board of Directors and committees
  • Offering new rates for membership and Annual Convention registration for members who are based in low- and middle-income countries
  • Crafting a new site selection policy that will guide planning for our Annual Convention in the future
  • Supporting Personality and Social Psychology Review as it launched a new editorial fellowship program designed to create a supportive pathway to editorial leadership for psychologists from communities that have been historically excluded from these roles

SPSP would like to thank each of our members for their support in 2022, as well as every volunteer and donor for giving their time and resources to advance personality and social psychology. We look forward to continuing our work together in 2023 and beyond!
