Graduate Student Travel Award |

The Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP) is pleased to announce the 2007 Student Travel Award Competition. Up to 40 stipends in the amount of $500 will be awarded to graduate students for travel to the 8th annual SPSP conference in Memphis, Tennessee, January 25-27, 2007.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must have paid their SPSP membership dues for 2007 by October 1, 2006 (no exceptions).
- Applicants must have a poster or symposium paper accepted by the 2007 SPSP Program Committee. (Notifications of acceptance were sent by the Program Committee in August. Please do not submit an application for a Travel Award unless you have received notification that your submission was accepted).
- Applicants must be the first or sole author of the accepted conference submission.
- Applicants must be enrolled in graduate school at the time of the conference. Work that was executed while an individual was in graduate school but would be presented post-graduation is ineligible for consideration.
- Applicants cannot have previously won a Travel Award or a Diversity Award from SPSP.
Application Procedure and Deadline
To be considered for a travel award, the following materials must be submitted:
- A completed application form, which can be downloaded from Tara Miller's conference site here.
- A copy of the poster or symposium abstract that was submitted to the program committee.
- A copy of the SPSP acceptance notification from the Program Committee.
One original plus three copies of the complete application packet must be received by October 15, 2006. The application packet should be sent to:

Decision Process and Notification
Award decisions will be based on the excellence of the submitted conference abstract and on the strength of the applicant’s scholarly record, as judged by the 2007 Student Travel Award Committee. Efforts will be made to insure representation from diverse institutions and geographical areas. Winners will be notified by email no later than December 15, 2006.
