 Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin

Personality and Social Psychology BulletinPersonality and Social Psychology Bulletin is an international outlet for original empirical papers in all areas of personality and social psychology. Occasionally, PSPB publishes other pieces of particular interest to members of the Society, such as special topical issues, selected symposia, and invited addresses. All papers are reviewed with respect to their scholarly merit. Length of articles is determined by the paper's objectives and scope of contribution. However, final papers normally should be no more than 35 manuscript pages, including references, tables and figures, in length.

Manuscript Submission

PSPB receives manuscript submissions through a web-based system called Rapid Review. Authors should register with Rapid Review and will be issued a login ID and password to access the system (including future manuscript submissions). Manuscripts can then be uploaded through an easy, step-by-step process. The Rapid Review system also serves as the center for editorial staff to communicate with authors, editors, and reviewers electronically throughout the review process.

Please note that although Rapid Review gives authors the option to complete the Submission Form online but submit the manuscript by mail, this option should only be used if the author is unable to upload the manuscript file(s). In this case, the author must still provide an electronic copy of the manuscript and should contact the journal office for further instructions before mailing any materials.

PSPB aspires to publish papers on a wide range of topics in each issue. To accomplish this goal, manuscripts must not exceed 10,000 words in length (manuscripts exceeding this limit will not be considered for review). The word count -- which includes the abstract, references, and notes -- should appear on the title page. Manuscripts should include an abstract of no more than 150 words typed on a separate sheet of paper. Beneath the abstract, authors should provide 4-5 keywords.

Masked reviews are optional. Authors requesting a masked review should answer "yes" to the question "Do you want a double blind review?" when completing the online Submission Form, and should remove all authors' names, institutions, and other identifying information from the electronic copy of the manuscript that is uploaded to Rapid Review.

All manuscripts should be typed according to the guidelines set forth in the 5th edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (including "Guidelines to Reduce Bias in Language" on pages 61-76). Journal policy prohibits an author from submitting the same manuscript for consideration by another journal and does not allow publication of a manuscript that has been published in whole or part in another journal. Authors must also verify compliance with APA ethical standards in the treatment of participants, human or animal.

Any inquiries regarding manuscript submission may be directed to the editor, Judith Harackiewicz, at:
