The Occupy Wall Street movement comes
three years after the the US financial meltdown. The lagtime could,
in part, be because of people's need to view their socioeconomic
systems as fair and just, suggests a recent study in Personality
and Social Psychology Bulletin, published by SPSP. In their
study of 108 students, John Jost of New York University and
colleagues found that for people who are disposed to challenge the
system, merely thinking about uncertainty dampens their urge to
protest and demand change, as reported
this week on Miller-McCune.
