The color of a hockey player's uniform may affect how much time the player spends in the penalty box, according to a new study published in Social Psychological and Personality Science, co-published by SPSP. The study, led by social psychologist Gregory Webster of the University of Florida, linked dark-colored NHL jerseys to greater aggression and light-colored jerseys to less aggression. The authors analyzed data from more than 50,000 NHL games over the last 25 seasons, tracking changes in uniform color and penalty points. Read more about the study in the Toronto Star.
