Personality and Social Psychology Opportunities at the APA Convention

The 2015 American Psychological Association’s Annual Convention, from August 6 to 9 in Toronto, Canada, will feature an exciting slate of programming specifically targeted towards personality and social psychologists.  Symposia on topics ranging from oxytocin to community resilience demonstrate the breadth of our fields.  Invited talks from Mark Leary, Veronica Benet-Martinez, Don Forsyth, James Maddux, and Erika Carlson present exciting, cutting-edge research.  There will also be over 100 poster presentations offering a window into the diversity of questions personality and social psychologists are pursuing.

In addition, the program offers sessions focused on the academic job search and personality and social psychologists working in applied settings (including a talk from the President of the World Wildlife Fund, Canada).

Rounding out the program are two social hours, one put on in collaboration with the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues, and one put on in collaboration with several scientific divisions.  There will also be the opportunity to connect with the many journal editors, publishers, academics, and applied scholars attending one of the largest annual gatherings of psychologists.

Registration for the convention is now open.  More information can be found at: http://apa.org/convention Please note that the convention will be held in Toronto, Ontario, so U.S. Citizens will be required to have a valid U.S. passport (information on obtaining a passport can be found at: http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/english/passports.html).
