The nomination portals for SPSP's Annual Awards are now open. These awards recognize contributions to the field of personality and social psychology. Awardees will be recognized at the SPSP 2019 Annual Convention.

Nominations close June 1, 2018. Nominate yourself or a colleague early to ensure that your submission is considered!

 
  Senior Career Contribution Awards - for sustained contributions across long and productive careers
  • Application of Personality and Social Psychology Award: honors an individual with applied discoveries and advances to the understanding and improvement of important practical problems
  • Block Award: recognizes research accomplishment in personality psychology
  • Campbell Award: recognizes research accomplishment in social psychology
  • Career Contribution Award: honors a scholar with major contributions to social and/or personality psychology or to bridging these areas together; may recognize those who have been under-recognized
  • Distinguished Scholar Award: honors a scholar whose research contributions do not fit within prototypical social or personality research areas
  • Methodological Innovator Award: recognizes an individual who has made a significant or sustained contribution to innovative methods in social and personality psychology across his or her career
     
  Mid-Career Contribution Awards - for mid-career scholars approximately 15-25 years from their first tenure-track appointment
  • Diener Award in Personality Psychology: recognizes a mid-career scholar whose work has added substantially to the body of knowledge to the personality field and/or brings together personality psychology and social psychology
  • Diener Award in Social Psychology: recognizes a mid-career scholar whose work has added substantially to the body of knowledge to the social psychology field and/or brings together personality psychology and social psychology
     
  Early Career Awards 
  • SAGE Young Scholars Awards: recognize outstanding young researchers (who are between 3 to 7 years into their first academic faculty position) in personality and social psychology. (nominations open summer 2018)
     
  Student Awards 
     
  Teaching and Mentoring Awards - for excellence in teaching and mentoring among faculty in settings with and without social-personality Ph.D. programs
  • Ambady Award for Mentoring Excellence: honors a personality or social psychologist who has demonstrated a career-long commitment to fostering the professional and intellectual development of students and early career researchers
  • Undergraduate Teaching and Mentoring Award: recognizes excellence in teaching and mentoring among faculty at colleges and universities that do not have Ph.D. programs in social and/or personality psychology
     
  Prizes for a Single Outstanding Contribution - for specific works within a given year
  • Cialdini Prize: recognizes the author(s) of a publication that uses field methods and demonstrates the relevance of social psychology to outside groups and communities
  • Wegner Theoretical Innovation Prize: recognizes the author of an article or book chapter judged to provide the most innovative theoretical contribution to social/personality psychology within a given year
     
  Media Awards - for contributions to helping the general public better understand the field
  • Book Prize: give recognition to the best book of the year that presents social and personality psychology to broader audiences
  • Excellence in Science Journalism Award: honors a member of the media for excellence in coverage of the personality and social psychology field
     
  Service Awards - for contributions to the field
