SPSP is pleased to launch two new annual awards in 2016: The Application of Personality and Social Psychology Award and the Undergraduate Teaching and Mentoring Award. These awards were introduced to recognize and honor a wider breadth of our memberships’ work.
The Application of Personality and Social Psychology Award honors a social or personality psychologist who has applied theoretical and/or empirical psychological discoveries and advances to the understanding and improvement of important practical problems. This could include working with organizations, government agencies, or industry. Recipients of this award receive a $1000 honorarium and accompanying plaque, which are presented at the annual Awards Ceremony held at the SPSP Annual Convention. In addition, travel and registration to the convention are provided.
The Undergraduate Teaching and Mentoring Award honors a personality or social psychologist who has demonstrated a career-long commitment to fostering the professional and intellectual development of undergraduate students. This award is intended to recognize exceptional and selfless efforts to shape our field through undergraduate mentoring activities that promote research integrity, impact, and productivity. Recipients receive $1000 and a plaque and will be recognized at the annual SPSP winter conference. Honorable Mention awardees will receive one year of free SPSP membership.
SPSP invites members to submit applications for both awards, and to disseminate this call for nominations to any eligible members!
