I have recently been focusing on two main lines of research. In a first line, I have been exploring how social identities shape our perceptions and evaluations of the world. In a second line, I have been exploring the flexibility of moral perception and evaluation. I approach these issues from a social neuroscience perspective, blending theory and methods from social psychology and cognitive neuroscience. Much of this work starts with the assumption that the human brain is best characterized as a dynamic system (as opposed to dual systems). To follow our recent research on twitter: @vanbavellab
