The Jepson School of Leadership Studies
at the University of Richmond seeks submissions for the 2013 Fredric M. Jablin Doctoral
Dissertation Award. This award was established to honor and celebrate the life
of Dr. Fredric M. Jablin (1952-2004). The award will be given annually to a
scholar whose doctoral dissertation research, while on any topic and from any
discipline, must demonstrate substantial insights and implications for the study of
leadership. The Jepson School of Leadership Studies is partnering
with the International Leadership Association to publicize the award and to
recognize the outstanding scholarship of the recipient. In order to be eligible
for the award competition, a dissertation must be completed between August 1,
2011 and August 1, 2013. This year’s recipient will be honored at the annual global
conference of the International Leadership Association, Oct. 30 - Nov. 2, 2013, in Montréal, where he or she will be asked to present the dissertation research. The recipient of the
award will also receive the following:

One year membership to the ILA

Candidates must also email a letter of interest, a 3-5 page abstract of a
substantive dissertation chapter (specifically, the chapter that best
represents the author's dissertation), a brief biography, and verification of
the dissertation defense date (e.g., a letter from the dissertation advisor) as
separate pdf file attachments to jepsonaward@richmond.edu.
Please do NOT send the dissertation. The award committee will contact finalists
by August 23, 2013 to request a full dissertation chapter. Further
