Dear SPSP members,
The International Society for Self and Identity (ISSI) is seeking nominations for its Distinguished Lifetime Career Award for 2013. This award is made annually to recognize a researcher who has made a sustained contribution
to our understanding of self and identity throughout her or his academic career.
The award winner will be invited to present a distinguished address at the SPSP Self and Identity Pre-Conference. Please help us get this information
to a wide audience of talented scientists for this year's competition.
Candidates for the award are not restricted by discipline and membership in ISSI is not a requirement. Previous winners of the award have been Charles Carver, Michael Scheier, Roy Baumeister, Mark Leary, Jeff Greenberg, Tom Pyszczynski, Sheldon Solomon, Jennifer Crocker, Mark Snyder, Sheldon Stryker, Tory Higgins, Claude Steele, Hazel Markus, Abraham Tesser, and Marilyn Brewer.
The selection committee (Marilynn Brewer, Jennifer Crocker, Charles Carver, and Michael Scheier) will make its recommendation to the ISSI Executive Committee and the winner will be announced by early June, 2013.
Please send your nomination, together with the nominee's vita and a brief
paragraph of no more than 250 words supporting your choice, to Marilynn Brewer (brewer.64@osu.edu).
Nominations are due by May 1, 2013.
Regards,
Jeff Greenberg
