Dear colleagues, 

Mattie Tops, Sander Koole, Femke Buisman-Pijlman, and I are organizing a special issue entitled "Mechanisms of well-adjusted and disordered self-soothing: From oxytocin and thermoregulation to addiction and emotional coping". For this special issue, we would like to bring together a number of different researchers that deal with related topics. 

In specific, we 'warmly' invite researchers that deal with social support and social soothing, including, but not limited to, those who deal with thermoregulation. We also decided to include a(n) (experimental) initiative on "registered reports" in which researchers can submit an experiment plan before the data collection.
