The Department of Psychological Science at Georgia College in Milledgeville, GA [http://tinyurl.com/gcpsych] seeks to fill a full-time, tenure track position in psychology at the assistant professor rank beginning fall 2013. PhD required; ABD considered.
Successful applicants will be expected to teach Introduction to Human Development, Statistics and Research Methods, and supervise practicum/internship experiences. The standard teaching load is four courses per semester. They will also have an opportunity to teach in their area of specialty. Specialty area is open and a commitment to undergraduate teaching and establishing a research program incorporating undergraduates is essential. The faculty and staff of the Department of Psychological Science are committed to the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of their professional lives. This is accomplished not only daily in the classroom and laboratory, but also in the execution of both basic and applied research activities with our students. Students regularly participate in faculty sponsored research activities. Many of these efforts result in professional publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and/or presentation at professional conferences in the psychological sciences. The faculty also actively supervise many students in applied settings where students participate in the practice of psychology.
Encompassing the arts and humanities, social and behavioral sciences, sciences and mathematics, fine and performing arts, and select professional programs, the College of Arts and Sciences is the largest of the university’s four colleges. Approximately 185 full-time faculty in twelve departments teach approximately 3,000 students with arts and science majors. Most of the core curriculum and many service courses to the other colleges are taught by Arts and Sciences faculty.
