Subject: Graduate Programs at Oakland University

Colleagues:

The Department of Psychology at Oakland University invites applications for our MS and PhD programs for those students interested in Social and/or Evolutionary Psychology. We would greatly appreciate it if you would pass this message along to any students who you believe would be a good fit for our programs. Interested students should visit the departmental website (http://www.oakland.edu/psychology/grad/overview) or contact Virgil Zeigler-Hill (zeiglerh@oakland.edu) for additional information.

The Self and Interpersonal Relationships Laboratory at Oakland University (under the direction of Virgil Zeigler-Hill) examines the role that self-esteem and self-concept play in outcomes such as psychological adjustment, interpersonal relationships, decision making, and resistance to social influence. For more information about the Self and Interpersonal Relationships Laboratory, please see the lab’s website (zeigler-hill.com).

The Evolutionary Psychology Lab at Oakland University (under the direction of Todd Shackelford) focuses on the psychology of close relationships, particularly romantic relationships. This lab studies phenomena such as jealousy, infidelity, relationship satisfaction, physical abuse, and sexuality. For more information about the Evolutionary Psychology Lab, please see the lab’s website (toddkshackelford.com).

Please let me know if you or your students have any questions about our graduate programs!
