Subject: Request for APA symposia that support the presidential theme
Dear SPSP members: The primary presidential initiative of the APA
president is to ensure that psychologists are in the
forefront of providing behavioral health services to military personnel,
veterans and their families
and to soldiers who have been the victims of sexual harassment. He
wants to devote as many hours as possible to supporting this initiative
at the 2013 APA convention. He is soliciting proposals from researchers
who are currently engaged in research that describes and delineates
assessments
and interventions with soldiers, returning veterans, their spouses and
children, and with victims of sexual harassment. Proposals that are
accepted will be recognized in the convention program
as part of the presidential initiative and the division will be
acknowledged. If at all possible, the presidential sessions will have no
competing programming in the
same content area. When you submit your symposium proposals, choose
the PT: Presidential Theme for the other division/group that may also be
appropriate for this proposal.
