Linfield College seeks a faculty member with a specialty in any area of
social psychology for a tenure track appointment in the Psychology Department.
The appointment will likely be at the assistant professor level. Completion of
the Ph.D by fall 2012 is preferred but A.B.D.’s will be considered. The
preferred candidate will be prepared to teach a total of six courses per year
including (but not limited to): introductory and advanced courses in social,
research methods and statistics, an introductory survey of psychology course,
and a student-faculty collaborative research course. The successful applicant
will also have the opportunity to develop other courses of interest and will be
expected to be an active team player who displays collegiality and
professionalism within the department and broader campus community.
Qualifications:
Teaching excellence is paramount,
followed by the ability to develop an active program of research involving undergraduates
as collaborators, in some area of social psychology. The Psychology Department
consists of 6 full time faculty members and is housed in recently renovated,
