The Department
of Psychology at the University of Essex, United Kingdom, is seeking applications
for a Reader/Senior Lecturer (equivalent to Associate Professor) or Lecturer
(equivalent to Assistant Professor) to join our Social Psychology Group.
The post is
permanent with a start date of 1 December 2012 or as soon as possible
thereafter. For Lecturer level appointments, applicants must have a proven
record of research and the ability to attract external research funding.
Experience of teaching or the demonstrable potential for achieving this is
essential; as is a PhD in Psychology. In addition, for appointment at Reader/Senior
Lecturer level proven research excellence as demonstrated by a substantial
number of high quality publications including papers in top ranked
international journals and leadership skills are needed.
The successful
candidate will be expected to contribute in an area of social psychology that
complements our broad research interests (see: http://www.essex.ac.uk/psychology/department/research/Social_Psychology.html),
and make a significant contribution to the Department’s research and teaching
activities. Administrative and examining duties as well as the supervision of
students are also required of the post.
