The Society for
Personality and Social Psychology announces that the recipient of the 2010
Student Publication Award is Sana Sheikh of the University of St. Andrews for her
article (co-authored with Ronnie Janoff-Bulmann), "The
"should” and "should nots” of moral emotions: A self-regulatory perspective on
shame and guilt”, published in Personality
and Social Psychology Bulletin, Vol. 36, pp. 213-224.
Papers were eligible
if the first author was a graduate student at the time of submission and the
manuscript was published in a society journal in 2010. A total of 58 papers
were eligible this year. The committee was impressed by the
significance of the idea, the sophistication of the studies and the quality of
presentation. The award comes with a $200 honorarium.
The selection was
made by an award committee consisting of Carolyn Morf (chair), Duane Wegener,
and Diane Mackie. We congratulate the authors on a
very fine piece of work and important contribution to our field.
