Dear colleagues,
We are excited to announce
that the Group Processes and Intergroup Relations Pre-Conferencewill
be returning to theSPSP conventionthis year! The
pre-conference will be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New
Orleans, Louisiana on Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 8am to 4:30pm.
The program includes an
excellent lineup ofspeakers, a poster session, continental
breakfast, and coffee breaks (with snacks). Following a growing
tradition at this pre-conference,two current graduate students or
recent Ph.D.'s will also present their work (see information about applying
below).

Young Scholar Presentations:
Current graduate students or recent Ph.D.'s (degree received in 2011 or
later) are invited to submit proposals to give 15 minute talks at the pre-conference.
These presentations should address topics in the field of group processes and
intergroup relations. The guidelines for these talks are the same as those for
the SPSP conference (e.g., 250 word abstracts must outline specific goals of
the study, methods used, a summary of results, and a conclusion). Data must be
collected prior to submission. All submissions for presentations will also be
considered for the poster session!
Poster Presentations:
We also invite poster submissions describing original research on group
processes and intergroup relations. The guidelines for these are the same as
those for the SPSP conference (e.g., 250 word abstracts must outline specific
goals of the study, methods used, a summary of results, and a
conclusion).
