With the generous assistance of several leading textbook authors and publishing companies, SPSP has established a fund devoted to increasing the degree of diversity within personality and social psychology. The contributors are listed below by donor category.
Travel Awards
Initially, the fund will be used to provide qualified graduate students with travel awards to attend the annual SPSP conference. To qualify, students must be enrolled in a psychology graduate program and must come from an underrepresented group in personality and social psychology (i.e., ethnic or racial minorities; first-generation college students; lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgendered students; and/or students with a physical disability). In the future, the SPSP Diversity Fund may also be used for other programs that enhance diversity within personality and social psychology. Award Recipients Since its founding in 2000, the SPSP Diversity Fund has distributed more than $90,000 to 129 award winners and 33 honorable mentions (before 2004, honorable mentions received free conference registration). For information on these individuals and their awards, see the SPSP Diversity Fund Award Recipients. For More Information If you would like further information about the SPSP Diversity Fund, or if you are potentially interested in contributing to it, please contact Professor David Dunning, Executive Officer of the Society.
